Wells Hall is located in the southern side of Great Cornard, which adjoins the town of Sudbury. In July 2017, our school converted to academy status joining the Unity Schools Partnership.
The school was last inspected in September 2021 and Ofsted judged the school Good.
The school does have an excellent reputation within the community. We have two classes per year group which are usually oversubscribed. Our school includes a nursery for children aged 2 – 4 years old.
The staff deliver the CUSP (Curriculum with Unity Schools Partnership) Curriculum which provides children with exciting and creative learning opportunities. This is supplemented by a range of educational visits including residential trips. We offer a good range of extra-curricular activities that changes termly and supplements their learning in school.
Our specialist PE staff ensure that physical activity and sport maintains a high profile in our school and encourage the children to adopt active lifestyles. Wells Hall pupils have an opportunity to participate in inter school competitions and every pupil participates in The Daily Mile.
In addition to our excellent teaching staff, we have both a pastoral care and an SEN team team dedicated to providing support for those pupils with additional needs.
Our catering team provide healthy, non-processed meals that are cooked on site. Approximately 1000 meals are being served and enjoyed weekly.
The school is situated in a large attractive site and the extensive grounds include an area specifically designed for Forest Schools.
Adjoining our site is Thomas Gainsborough School with whom we have very close links and we are able to share their resources. For example, our pupils regularly use their tennis courts and visit the Food Tech and Science Labs.
The school is an inclusive community that provides a caring, happy and welcoming environment in which to learn.
The best way to understand our school is to see it in action. If you would like to learn more about our school, please do arrange a visit.
