PE & Sport Premium
About PE & Sport Premium Funding
The Sport Premium is the government method of providing funding for primary school sport. The funding is being jointly provided By the Departments For Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport, with the money going directly to primary schools. This is specifically to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. Each school will receive £16,000 plus an extra £10 per pupil each year.
Schools must spend the sports funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but have the freedom to choose how they do this.
At Wells Hall we are strongly committed to PE. This is evident in the wide range of activities in and out of school that we offer, including being involved in competitive sports. We have specialist staff who support us in delivering high quality provision. We recognise the importance of PE to the health and well-being of our children and the impact the PE curriculum and extracurricular activities can have on the attitudes, confidence and academic achievement of all children.
